Alexander Books

It is with regret that Berkshire-based Alexander Books has announced that it is not able to continue business as it is now.  They will be maintaining their website at as a useful resource, but will not be buying in new stock.

So if you are after a particular Alexander book or resource now may be the time to visit the website and see if it is still in stock.

From Tanya Whannell MSTAT

For over 7 years I have successfully taught 3 hour workshops at New Greenham Arts, Thatcham in Berkshire. Students from the Oxfordshire and Hurley Training schools have ably assisted and been inspired and grown in confidence to teach AT to members of the public as well.

On graduating over 10 years ago, I gave talks to the organisations like the WI, Arthritis Association etc and built a successful private practice in Surrey. Since 2011, I  teach at Newbury College - "bite size courses" to groups of 10 or more adult and community learners.  Since the economic "downturn", many people are looking for inexpensive ways to solve the myriad functional problems they have. Each of these approaches requires different skills and I keep learning new ones!

I would very much like to share information and inspire other teachers in the Berkshire, Surrey Hampshire area and am looking for someone to help me arrange a workshop.  I'm not sure of the title but "Teaching the Technique to Groups"  or "Teaching the Technique for the terrified? "

If you are interested, I would love to hear from you.

Teaching Room to Rent in Basingstoke

Jackie Bond has spare capacity in her quiet, peaceful and established teaching room in Basingstoke, which she is looking to rent out and which would be ideal for a newly qualified teacher, or for a teacher looking for a second base for either the Alexander Technique or another complementary therapy.

The location and outlook would make it ideal for practitioners of 'talking' therapies as well as Nutritionists, Massage therapists etc.

Times and cost are negotiable.

For further information, please contact Jackie Bond on 01256 470939 or email:"
